My Story

I began my counseling experience in a pastoral role serving young people and their families. Upon retirement I earned my degree in Marital and Family therapy and began work with at risk teens and their families through intensive in home services designed to promote stability and success. I became a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Tennessee and North Carolina and have worked in a variety of community, office, and home based clinical settings and have served children, teens, and adults helping address a wide range of emotional, behavioral, relational, and spiritual concerns.

I will work with you to identify specific and measurable goals then collaborate with you to explore and apply strategies to help you meet your goals. Whether you are seeking to reduce feelings of anxiety, become a healthier partner in your relationship, or you have some other goals in mind, I want to join with you on your journey to success.

My Mission

I believe in the importance of self awareness and care for the mind, body, and spirit. I want to help you explore and incorporate your own spiritual perspective, whatever that may be, in your pursuit of wholeness and healing. I prioritize your agency especially with regard to whether or not to address spiritual issues or include spiritual interventions in your therapy experience.

My Faith

I recognize the value many individuals place on incorporating spiritual direction in the therapeutic relationship. If you are looking for a therapist who will join with you in seeking wisdom and encouragement from a spiritual perspective, I am happy to help you discover and implement those insights as we rewrite your story.

What my clients have to say...

“He is a genuinely welcoming therapist. He listens well and prompts you to reflect. He does not push you to share, but will allow the conversation to naturally flow. He allows you to come to your own conclusions based off of what you are open to sharing.”

“Andrew Baskin is a great therapist! He has helped me through so much and I would recommend him to anyone.”

“Andrew has a very calming style, and listens very well. I look forward to working more with him.”

“If my husband enjoys him, he’s doing something right. We have had multiple sessions with other therapists and my husband always rejected them but the timing is right and Mr. Baskin is very reliable and we will continue with him. I will recommend him to all.”

“Wonderful counselor! Really listens and offers excellent suggestions.”

“He has been supportive yet challenging and has offered a new way for me to approach my grief. It has been quite helpful to date and I highly recommend him to others.”

Andrew has helped my husband and me so much. Our marriage is stronger and better since counseling with Andrew.

Extremely happy with Andrew. He knows how to pull information from my stories and from my questions and answer things and just the right way he shows me how unhealthy things can be looked at in a healthy way to heal and improve. Highly recommend

I’ve seen several therapists over the years, and Andrew has been the absolute best fit for me!  Whereas most therapists seem to spout off advice and offer too much perspective, Andrew listens, and I sincerely appreciate that about him.  He lets me work things out while I’m talking, and THEN interjects and encourages.   If you’re someone who needs their therapist to listen and be patient, Andrew is your guy!

His work is a wonderful mixture of intuition and observation.  I trust his feedback! (And, I was a practicing therapist for 23 years!)
